Membership in international organizations

In its work, the Central Securities Depository actively abides by the standards and recommendations of international organizations whose subject of work are post-trade institutions


ECSDA - European Central Securities Depositories Association

In February 2012, the Central Securities Depository became a member of the European Central Securities Depositories Association (ECSDA). ECSDA represents 41 national and international central securities depositories (CSDs) across 37 European countries. The association provides a forum for European CSDs to exchange views and take forward projects of mutual interest. It aims to promote a constructive dialogue between the CSD community, European authorities and all other stakeholders looking to achieve an optimal regulatory framework for clearing and settlement. As a member of this association, the CSD has access to know-how which is employed in order to strengthen the institutional capacity of CSD and the development of its operations.

 

ANNA - Association of National Numbering Agencies

In 2004, Central securities depository was named as National Numbering Agency for Republic of North Macedonia, by the Association of National Numbering Agencies (ANNA), an international institution based in Brussels, Belgium, which monitors the correct allocation of ISIN numbers of securities and the classification of financial instruments. In June 2007, the Depository gained the status of a full member at the ANNA. The Depository currently cooperates with ANNA, providing the data for ISIN numbers and CFI codes to the ANNA database on a daily basis.

 

FEAS - Federation of Euro-Asian Stock Exchanges

Since 2003 the Central securities depository has been a member of the Federation of Euro-Asian Stock Exchanges (FEAS), an international organization that promotes good corporate governance for the participants in the capital markets, with the objective of facilitating the development of domestic markets, promoting cooperation and emphasizing harmonization within the markets of Europe, Asia and the Mediterranean Basin. The Depositary takes an active part in the working bodies of FEAS and in using educational programs of the organization. The Depositary is a member of the Executive Board of the FEAS.
